WALLINGFORD - Anastasia Panos, 98, of Wallingford beloved wife of the late Haralambos Panos, departed this life on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the Regency House in Wallingford.
Anastasia was born on February 2, 1916 in Greece daughter of the late Pericles and Kostantina Evageliou. She was a loving homemaker taking wonderful care of her family which meant the world to her. Anastasia was also a faithful member of St. Basil's Greek Orthodox Church in New Haven.
She will be sadly missed by her children: Mary Zafiris and her husband Steve of Wallingford, George Panos and his wife Janet of IL, Tina Karatzas of Wallingford. Anastasia also leaves her beloved grandchildren: Lizabeth Haskos and her husband Nicholas of Deep River, Ted Zafiris and his wife Raysa of Newtown, Haralambos Panos and his wife Anne of OR, Anastasia June and her husband Darren of IL, John Panos and his wife Diane of IL, Debbie Baklas and her husband Steven of Wallingford, Peter Karatzas and his partner Joanna Dragowska of IL, along with 13 great grandchildren. Anastasia is preceded in death by all of her sisters and brothers.
Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 11:00 at St. Basil's Greek Orthodox Church in New Haven. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Wallingford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Basil's Greek Orthodox Church, 1 Tower Lane, New Haven, CT 06519, or St. George's Orthodox Cathedral, 433 Fairfield Avenue, Hartford, CT 06114, or The Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut, 501 George Street, New Haven, CT 06511.
