WALLINGFORD - Arthur A. Aspinwall, 89, of Wallingford and formerly of Seymour, beloved husband of 59 years to the late Madelyn (Moran) Aspinwall, departed this life on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Hartford Hospital.
Art was born on May 15, 1926 in Attleboro, MA, son of the late Harold and Mary (Farrell) Aspinwall. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II. He retired after 38 years from Sikorsky Aircraft as a Flight Inspector, and later at Woodhaven Country Club as a Starter. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. He and his wife also enjoyed winters in Myrtle Beach.
His memory lives on through his 3 daughters: Susan Mazzoccoli of Newington, Nancy Gilligan and her husband Gary of Wallingford, and Mary Strauss and her husband Paul of Cheshire. Art also leaves 5 beloved grandchildren: Karen Cantafi and her husband Danny, Andrea Lazorik and her husband Kevin, Matthew Mazzoccoli, and Hailey and Kira Strauss, along with 3 great-grandchildren: Daniel and Connor Cantafi, and Aaron Lazorik.
Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 4 - 7 pm at the B. C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. Friends and Relatives will gather beginning at 9:00 AM on Thursday, October 1st at the funeral home for a procession to Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be held at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101 or online at www.stjude.org.
