WALLINGFORD - Audrey Jean Lincoln, 85, departed this life on November 2, 2016 at the Masonic Healthcare Center in Wallingford.
Jean, as she was known to everyone, was born in Willimantic, CT on July 6, 1931 to the late Robert Lincoln and Mabel Fitts Beebe.
She had been the owner of Jean's House of Beauty for over 40 years. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church and was part of the Ladies' Guild. She was an avid traveler with a great love of family, animals, and reading. Jean lived her life with a firm belief that love grows as it is shared, and was an ever present part of the joys and celebrations of her family and many friends.
Jean is survived by sisters: Shirley Bates formerly of Willington and Muriel Kreuscher and her husband Richard of Willington, her lifelong friend Lillian Gaetano and her dog Buddy of Wallingford, and multiple generations of nieces and nephews for whom she had great affection. She was predeceased by her brother Robert Lincoln.
The family wishes to thank the staffs of Vitas Home Health and Masonic Hospice for the compassionate care they showed for Jean.
Friends may call on Sunday, November 6th from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St., Wallingford, CT 06492. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Wallingford. Interment will follow at the New Storrs Cemetery in Mansfield.
