Chester Joseph Smolinski, of Wallingford, CT, passed away January 7, 2016, at the age of 86 years, in Village Green of Wallingford, after a prolonged illness.
Chester was born in 1929 to Wanda Smolinski (nee Wolski) and Chester Smolinski in the state of Delaware. Chester, also known as Joe, was well known around Wallingford as the talented carpenter/mechanic who somehow found bicycles for his two younger brothers, Tim and Dave, and taught them how to ride, turned his Ford half-ton into a hydraulic mini-dump truck, built his own speedboat and crafted the house he and his grandmother lived in until she passed away.
Chester's wish was that his ashes be interred next to his mother in the In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford. The ceremony will be private. Chester is survived by his brother, Timothy Wawrzeniak of Oxnard, CA. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with arrangements.
