Deborah Milton Tribute

WALLINGORD - Deborah J. Milton, 91 passed away on July 18, 2014. She was the wife of the late Harold E. Milton. Debbie was raised in Stratford, CT by her parents Thomas Lloyd and Annie Barker Joyce.
She was a 1940 graduate of Stratford High School, and attended the Junior College of Connecticut in Bridgeport. During WWII, she worked in the office at Chance Vought in Stratford. Debbie met her husband in Stratford on a blind date at a war bond rally when he returned from the Battle of Midway. They were married in 1944, and lived in Stratford for 35 years. Debbie was involved in the Jaycees, the Stratford YMCA Swim Team Parent's Club, Friends of the Library and the Naval Squadron, VF42. Our Mom loved sewing, mending, knitting, crocheting, and quilting her entire life. During their retirement, Debbie and Harold were always on the go traveling the country in their RV visiting friends and family.
Debbie leaves behind her two sons Thomas and Sharon Milton of Winterville, GA and Curtis Milton of Wallingford, CT, and two daughters Joyce and Pete Filosi of Bethel, CT and Joanie and Mike Sleister of Cumming, GA. She cherished and loved her 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
All services are private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Charity Foundation, P.O. Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford is in charge of arrangements.
