WALLINGFORD - Dolores "Dee" Libby, 79, of Wallingford, peacefully departed this life on Monday, March 16th, at Gaylord Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Dee was born on January 14, 1936, in New Haven, CT, daughter of the late Eugene Bartholomew and Janis Yeager. She was a graduate of East Haven High School class of 1953. She worked for many years as a Secretary for the Zurich Insurance Company. After her retirement she was a volunteer with the American Red Cross, and the Wallingford Public Library Book Seller. Dee was an avid bowler for many years. She served as the Secretary of the New Haven Women's Bowling Association for many years.
She will be sadly missed by her beloved children: Karen Hanley and her fiancé Charlie Schreier of Wallingford, Diane Moose and her husband John of Port Byron, NY, Sandy Libby and her fiancé Tom Maloney of Cromwell, CT, and Robert Libby and his fiancé Lori DeCicco of Wallingford. She also leaves 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by two brothers: Eugene and Bruce Bartholomew.
Relatives and friends may call for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 21st from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the B. C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM in the funeral home. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Center Cemetery in Branford. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Red Cross, PO Box 4002018, Des Moines, IA 50340-2018, or the Wallingford Public Library Development Fund, 200 North Main St., Wallingford, CT 06492.
