Frances Leigh Tribute
WALLINGFORD - Frances S. Leigh, 80, of Wallingford and formerly of Hamden, departed this life, on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the Masonic Healthcare Center.
Frances was born on September 12, 1935 in New Haven, CT daughter of the late Edward Shanley and Alice (Hunihan) Gladish. In her spare time Frances enjoyed quilting. She will be remembered most as a loving wife and mother. Frances also loved animals, which in turn all loved her. She had a gentle soul, and was known for her kindness to all she encountered.
Her memory lives on with her husband of 60 years Norman of Wallingford, and their two daughters: Deborah Smith and her partner Dennis Capuano of ME, and Maryellen Leigh and partner Beth of Trumbull, and their son, Stephen Leigh and his wife Ruth of CA. She is also survived by a sister, Elaine Kuczynski of FL and a brother, Andrew Gladish of OH.
Frances is preceded in death by her son-in-law Richard Smith.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30th at 1:30 PM at the B. C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford, Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Wallingford. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Wallingford Animal Shelter, 5 Pent Road, Wallingford, Ct 06492, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
