Geraldine Gowing

MERIDEN - Geraldine Gowing, 84, departed this life on February 28, 2017 at the Connecticut Baptist Home. She was the wife of the late Harold W. Gowing. Geraldine was born in Sutton,Quebec, Canada on May 9, 1932 to the late Cecile and Ruby (Prouty) Mandigo.
Mrs. Gowing was a member of the Meriden Hills Baptist Church in Meriden. Before her retirement, she was employed by the Veterans Home and Hospital in Rocky Hill.
She is survived by four daughters: Mary Chase of Sangerville, ME, Sheryl Gowing of Danville, PA, Tammy Chase of Middletown and Sandra Hall of St. Charles, MO; eight grandchildren: Denise Chase, Dennis Chase, Michael and Eric Graham, Zachary Glenn, Sunni Burras, Sara Parosh and Jason Chapman; and ten great grandchildren. She was predeceased by four sons: Harold Gowing, Jr., Ronald Gowing, Joseph Gowing and William Gowing; and two daughters: Madonna Graham and Wanda Gowing.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Meriden Hills Baptist Church, 139 Charles St., Meriden. Friends may call at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St., Wallingford on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Essex Junction, VT.
