WALLINGFORD - Joan T. Heikie, 78, of Wallingford, beloved wife of Richard K. Heikie, departed this life unexpectedly on Sunday, August 9, 2015.
Joan was born on September 17, 1936 in New Haven, CT, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Perillo) Tartaglione. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, crosswords, volunteering time at the Masonic Home, and day trips with friends. She especially loved spending time with her granddaughters.
In addition to her husband of 45 years she is survived by her two daughters: Lori Porter and her husband William of Killingworth, and Deborah Altieri and her husband Mark of Portland. She also leaves her two beloved granddaughters: Sarah and Katherine Porter, along with a brother, Joseph Tartaglione and his wife Anne of GA.
Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, August 13th from 9 - 11 AM at the B. C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. A service will follow at 11AM in the funeral home with Fr. John Georgia of the Church of the Resurrection officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Meriden.
