Lawrence Silvernail Tribute
Lawrence Silvernail, 88, left this life after a battle with Alzheimer's on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Hospice House in Vero Beach, FL.
He was the son of Lewis and Elsie Gates Silvernail and nephew of Lloyd Kipp Silvernail.
Larry leaves his son Lloyd of Meriden and his daughter Patricia Olivieri and her partner Don Elliott of FL. His wife Phebe is already an angel and is awaiting his arrival along with his beloved dog, Gigi, and cat, Gonzo.
Larry was a graduate of the Hamden High School class of 1945.
Larry was a WWII Vet stationed in the Philippines and Guam for the Army Air Corp. He worked at Pratt & Whitney in the Tool & Dye Department for 35 years. After retiring in 1982, he and his wife moved to the Treasure Coast of FL.
Larry loved to play golf and he achieved four hole in ones. The family would go each year to Ogunquit, ME where they had property. Both Larry and his wife lived in Village Green in Vero for over 20 years and were very active in the community - he made the hash for the Sunday breakfasts.
Friends may call at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 So. Elm Street in Wallingford on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 5-7 PM. Interment at Alder Brook Cemetery in Guilford will be private and at the convenience of the family. Any donations should be directed to your local animal shelter of choice in Larry's name.
