Robert "Bob" Barillaro

WALLINGFORD-Robert (Bob) O. Barillaro, 77, departed this life on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford.
Bob was born in Meriden, CT on December 2, 1939 to the late Nicholas and Ann (Caratelli) Barillaro. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving as part of the 82nd Airborne. In 1962 he became an Operating Engineer; he was a proud member of IUOE Local 478. Bob loved to travel. As a crane operator he traveled all over the world. He worked on many infrastructure projects in developing countries. Bob also loved to cook. His passion started when he owned Gabby's Restaurant in Meriden. He was also an avid golfer and enjoyed being a ranger after retirement.
Bob is survived by his son Robert G. Barillaro of Maryland, his sister Ann Marie Stevens (John) of Wallingford, his niece, Gina Kupec (Tim) of Wallingford and his nephew, John Stevens (Suzanne) of Killingworth. Bob is also survived by two granddaughters and three great nephews.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday March 24, at 10:30 AM at the Church of the Resurrection in Wallingford. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden. Family and Friends may call Friday, March 24, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm Street in Wallingford.
