Robert Janauskas Tribute
Robert E. Janauskas (Bob) (Red), 80, of Middletown, passed away peacefully with the love of his family, Dec 8, 2016 at Pilgrim Manor, in Cromwell. He was the beloved husband of his late wife Geraldine for 55 years.
Robert was born on December 15, 1935 in Shenandoah, PA the son of the late Helen Wishnefsky. Robert served in the Army from 1953-56 and was a veteran of the Korean War. While living in Wallingford, he was employed at Pratt & Whitney in North Haven and after 33 years of employment he retired and he and Helen relocated in Ocala, FL where they spent 24 wonderful years.
Robert was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and the VA. He was an avid accordion and organ player for himself, family and friends.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory; son Steven Janauskas and wife Michelle of Cromwell, daughter Linda Dietrich and husband Paul of Middlefield, daughter Carol Massey and husband Daniel of Cromwell, four grandchildren; Paul Dietrich and wife Shannon of Durham, Danielle Janauskas of Boston and her mom Michelle Grant of Moodus and Alex and Austin Massey. And, two great grandchildren; Avery and Brayden.
Services are private and under the care of B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford. Interment will be at St. John's Cemetery in Wallingford. We sincerely thank our family and friends for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made in Robert's memory to the VFW, Post 591, 23 Prince Street, Wallingford CT, 06492.
