Theresa Long Tribute

WALLINGFORD - Theresa (Ramo) Long, 65, of Wallingford, loving wife of 42 years to Woody Long, died peacefully at home on Monday, October 20, 2014 after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Theresa was born on April 9, 1949 in Quebec City, Canada, daughter of the late Harold "Pee Wee" and Germaine (St.Jean) Ramo. She was raised in Bridgeport and attended St. Ambrose Grammar School, Notre Dame Girl's High School, and later attended college in Boston. She worked for many years in Human Resources at Blue Cross in North Haven and later for the Masonic Home and Hospital in Wallingford. In her spare time Theresa was a volunteer at Aces Village School for many years and took good care of their library. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and relatives. She liked the beach the ocean and all things natural; most of all she loved music. For all of his sixteen years she took loving care of her son James who predeceased her. She wished her end of life journey to be quiet, contemplative, and calm; because of the loving support of all her friends, family, and Connecticut Home Hospice, that is how her journey ended. She resided in Wallingford with her husband.
She is survived by her husband Woody of Wallingford, along with a brother-in-law Tom Long and his wife Carrie of ME, three sister-in-laws: Judy Gilmore and her husband Emerson of VA, Jane Broderick of Fairfield, and Margaret Flad and her husband Harry of VT along with several nieces and nephews. She also leaves two close cousins: Julie Capuano and Denise Masulli both of Prospect along with numerous other extended family. She is preceded in death by her son James Long.
Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 4-6 PM and again on Friday, October 24th from 10-11 AM at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford.
