Bernadette "Bernie" Golembowski

CAMDEN, NC - Bernadette “Bernie” Mary Golembowski, 79, of Camden NC, passed away May 20,2022 at Midstate Medical Center in Connecticut. She was born to the late Rudolph Louis and Marie Cecilia Brodeur on April 23, 1943 in Cheshire, Connecticut. She was the wife of the late Germain “Jerry” Golembowski for 44 years.

She is survived by her four children, Mark G. Fournier of Clayton, NC, Todd J. Fournier of Barkhamsted, CT, Scott R. Fournier of Cheshire, CT, and Kelly J. Seymour (Michael) of Camden, NC; two stepsons, Bryan Golembowski and Gregory Golembowski; seventeen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren (and another arriving in August); and sisters, Anita Glidden, Carrie Fekete, Edna Costello, and Dottie Woodhouse.

Bernie started a daycare center in CT where she touched the hearts of many children over the years. Bernie moved from Cheshire CT to NC in the late 80’s to a beautiful waterfront property. She enjoyed working in her gardens and relaxing out on the dock where she would fish with Jerry, their children, and grandchildren. One of her favorite things was taking the grandchildren crabbing. She enjoyed knitting and making stuffed animals for children. Bernie was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. As her health declined she was always positive, talking about her traveling plans, spending time with family, and enjoying her newly built home.
