Buell H. Hunt

WALLINGFORD - Buell Hubbard Hunt of North Main St., Wallingford died Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford at the age of 79 after a long and courageous battle with COPD. A son of Floyd and Muriel Hubbard Hunt of Meriden, he was predeceased by his parents, his brother Harlan Fiske Hunt, and his wife, Sandra Doolittle Hunt.
A lifelong resident of Meriden and Wallingford, Buell attended Meriden schools as well as the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, CA. After completing school, Buell worked for the International Paper Company, serving as the East Coast Art Production Manager, and later for the local fine arts reproduction company Meriden Gravure, as an account executive, and retired as general manager. In his retirement, Buell owned and managed Hunt's Courtyard Antiques in Wallingford with his wife, Sandy.
Buell was a long-time member of the First Congregational Church of Wallingford, where he previously served as senior deacon. He was also a member of the Y's Men of Meriden.
Buell is survived by a sister, Dallas Hunt Mills Allison, of Charlotte, NC, a son, Jordan-Buell Hunt of Wallingford, a daughter, Allison Hunt Lehman and her husband Robert, of St. Louis, and by two grandchildren, Meredith Delaney Lehman and Elizabeth Farrington Lehman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and by his loving companion, Joan Hendricks.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, April 24, 2015 at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford. A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church in Wallingford on Saturday, June 13 at 10:00 am. Burial will be in the In Memoriam Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
It was Buell's wish that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the First Congregational Church of Wallingford, 23 South Main St., Wallingford, CT.
