Carol Jesse (Eliason) Williams

WALLINGFORD - Carol (Eliason) Williams of Wallingford, Connecticut graduated from this life, July 24th, 2022. The daughter of Catharine Wiese and Raymond Eliason of Northford, Carol made Wallingford her home with her late husband of 50 years, George E. Williams. Affectionately called "the Sarge" by George, Carol was a strong woman who expected you to do your best, and loved you at your worst.

   She was a tough, no nonsense, kind, loving mother to her daughters, Jodi and Tracey, their best friends Cindy and Amanda, and many others. Whether it was loading her children in the station wagon and hitching up the camper to drive across the country to visit family, or hosting monthly gatherings with "the great aunts” and her cousins to play cards, Carol brought people together. She loved to bake for her family and friends, for events at the Northford Congregational Church where she was a lifetime member, and to prepare her home the day after Christmas for her annual “open house.” 

   When not cooking and baking, Carol crocheted beautiful tablecloths, made clothes for Barbie Dolls, took her kids and their Girl Scout troops on adventures, and made sure her children knew all the back roads to Gillette's Castle, the Devil’s Hopyard, and New Haven where Carol attended Wilbur Cross High School and worked for years with Western Union. 

   As Carol's health declined, with the support of her extended family, Bill, Pam, and others, she continued to engage with the world. Carol fought each moment against the terrible Parkinon’s disease that slowly took her mobility, and we are pretty sure, even though she wasn’t ready, she met death on her own terms. She is so very missed and yet still lives on in our hearts.

   Carol is survived by sisters “Cappy” Kopylec and Nancy Cheney; her daughter and son-in-law, Tracey Jo and Sean Kelsey, and their children George and Jesseca; her daughter and son-in-law Jodi and Heath Kosakowski, and their girls, Zofia, Tesia and Rayna.

   Family and friends are invited to share in some of Carol's favorite dishes and recipes along with stories and memories on Sunday, October 16th at the family home in Wallingford. Open house noon to 3pm with formal sharing at 1:00pm.
