Christina M. Mercer, 47, loving daughter and friend, of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Apple Rehab of Farmington Valley after a courageous battle with cancer. She is now reunited with her father, Robert F. Mercer, who predeceased her in May of 2018.
Christina was born January 8, 1971 in New Britain, daughter to Rose M. (Thibodeau) and the late Robert F. Mercer. She graduated from Saint Paul Catholic High School and furthered her education at Central Connecticut State University, earning her bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Christina worked at Legal Source as a staffing coordinator in West Hartford, helping to place people in jobs most suitable for them. She enjoyed various sports and hobbies, including ballooning, ice skating, tennis, and fishing with her relatives in Maine. Above all, Christina loved her family and her animals. She will be dearly missed as her family and friends cherish the memories they have shared with her.
Christina is survived by her mother Rose M. Mercer; her Uncle Ted Thibodeau; and several cousins, extended family members, and a large circle of friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 9 AM to 10:30 AM at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 94 Broad St., Plainville. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
