David Joseph Morse

On the morning of Monday, August 16, 2021, David Joseph Morse passed away in his home with his beloved wife, Barbara, by his side at the age of 65.  David was born on July 5, 1956 in Bristol, CT to Harold and Aline Morse.  He graduated from New Britain High School in 1974 as a member of the National Honor Society before becoming an electrician at Fafnir Bearing, Loctite, and ADT.  He had two daughters, Nancy and Cheryl, after he graduated high school.  On December 27, 1980, he married Barbara Dupuis and on August 14, 1983 he had a son, Christopher, with her.  The true loves of his life came later, when Christopher gave him two granddaughter's, Leeana Joy on August 7, 2017 and Jillian Rose on May 1, 2020.  They were "Papamia's" everything and what kept him going until the end.  He lived in Plainville, CT until the day of his passing.

David's loves were his granddaughter's, but he also had other interests as well.  He loved to garden and often spent time thinking, preparing and working on his garden each year.  He loved cats, and had many over the years, Tina, Stinky, Misty & Wilbur.  They were his best friends and he would spend many hours holding and brushing them.  He had a love for music, even starting a business as a DJ for parties and weddings for a time.  Some of his favorites included Van Halen, Ted Nuggent, ZZ Top, and Heavy D.  Another interest of his was photography and his favorite models were his granddaughters.  He often talked about his Mustang when he was in high school and his love for driving around with no exact destination in mind.  For many years, David coached and played hockey and helped many children fulfill their dream of learning the great game.  He was a thoughtful man, often taking the time to think over a problem thoroughly to devise an intricate plan to solve it.  David loved to talk about sports and politics, and also had a sarcastic and quick wit.  And he always had love for those closest to him and loved to hug.

David was preceded in death by his father, Harold, his mother, Aline, and his stepmother, Barbara.  He is survived by his wife Barbara, their son Christopher, his daughter in law Rachel, his granddaughters Leeana and Jillian, his daughter's Nancy and Cheryl, his granddaughter Aliyah and his grandson Jeffery, his sister Beverly and his neice and nephew, Jaime and David.

Funeral services are for immediate family as well as a celebration of his life to be held afterwards.  Any donations the family is asking be sent to the American Diabetes Association. The Bailey Funeral Home of Plainville has been entrusted with the arrangements.
