Deborah Belasco Tribute

WALLINGFORD - Deborah A. (Carter) Belasco, 71, of Wallingford, passed peacefully in the morning of March 6, 2023, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was a courageous warrior in her fight against breast cancer and fought to the very end.
She is survived by her beloved husband and best friend of 22 years, David Belasco, sister Sheri McCarthy, her favorite son David Alejos, her favorite daughters Mikki Melillo and Anjelina Melillo, as well as her “Connecticut son” Stephen Tagliatela. Deborah was a proud mother, aunt, and grandma.

She had a passion for dancing and owned Dancing Heart aerobic studio, was full of life, had a love for art and always expressed her artistic mind through her paintings. She was a proud graduate of St. Vincent's College in Bridgeport, CT.  She adored animals and precious moments, was a beautiful soul who was down to earth, charismatic, and a great friend who took anyone in need under her wings. She loved her 7 o’clock Jeopardy date nights with her husband Dave and her morning tea and toast. One of her favorite things to do was cooking and dancing in the kitchen to Whitney Houston using what ever she had in reach as a microphone.

While raising her kids at home, the house was always filled with love and laughter, neighborhood friends, meatballs, and rice and beans, which she always made with her secret ingredient of love. She had an empathic heart which she lovingly passed down to all her children. Born on Mother’s Day, she was destined to be maternal. Her beautiful motherly instincts impacted her children and all of their friends as she was a second mother to many. She was intuitive and never made anyone feel alone but safe and protected. She was selfless and always made sure her family was okay even on her toughest days.

We will carry on all of her unique family traditions with our favorite being the pajama fairy on Christmas Eve and her famous homemade "love milk".

In lieu of flowers, her family is asking that you perform a random act of kindness, say your "I love you’s" and hug your loved ones a little tighter. Her family also wants to thank everyone for the support and love they have received.

All services will be private and at the convenience of her family.  There will be no calling hours. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford, CT has been entrusted with arrangements.  To leave a condolence or message of remembrance please visit: www.BaileyCares.com
