Doreen Audrey (Douglas) Fiengo

Doreen Audrey (Douglas) Fiengo 84, of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away Tuesday October 30, 2018 at Sheriden Woods Health Care Center in Bristol surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of John A. Fiengo.

Doreen was born February 6, 1934 in New Haven, a daughter of the late Earl and Hattie (Faulkner) Douglas. She was a graduate of East Haven High School and had worked as an administrative secretary for many years. After retiring, she and her husband moved to Myrtle Beach, where she was a member of the Myrtle Beach Women’s Club and volunteered her singing and dancing talents to provide entertainment to nursing homes. She also enjoyed walking and bowling, but mostly she loved being with her family, friends and her grandchildren. She was a kind, caring and loving wife, mother and friend. We will all miss her.

She leaves her daughter Deborah F. Brown and her husband James of Southington, her son, John Fiengo and his wife Cindy of Meriden, her grandchildren, Amanda and Kyle, her great granddaughter Isabelle, her brother, Robert Douglas and his wife Linda of Myrtle Beach, SC, her sister-in-law Diane Douglas, several nieces and nephews and many friends. Doreen was predeceased by her brothers, Frank and Earl Douglas.

A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Doreen’s life will be held on Saturday November 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Dominic Church 1050 Flanders Road in Southington. Burial will be held privately. If desired memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter 200 Executive Blvd S #4B Southington, CT 06489. The Bailey Funeral Home 48 Broad Street in Plainville has care of arrangements.
