Tribute

WALLINGFORD - Faith Audrey (Wachtelhausen) Otto, 89, of Wallingford, departed this life peacefully on July 1, 2023, at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden, CT surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Henry Otto.

Faith was born in Wallingford, CT on February 12, 1934, to the late Henry and Mary (Edwards) Wachtelhausen.

Faith was a spunky and gregarious individual who always enjoyed being with others.  A true social butterfly, she would be found mingling among her friend’s playing bocce, tending to her garden, or in the kitchen cooking up amazing meals for her family. She loved to dance and found comfort and hope in her faith in God. Faith suffered tragedy in her life after losing two of her children to illness.  However, she was never one to complain and accepted life as it came with grace and fortitude.

Faith adored her family and cherished every moment that she spent with them. We all are so grateful that she was our loving Matriarch.

Faith is survived by her son Jay Cei (Kit), her daughter Mary Lynn Nieves (Luis), her daughter-in-law Marisa Cei, her sister Shirley Burns and her stepdaughters Mary Eileen, Barbara and Kathy.  Also, her grandchildren Daniel (Erin) Nicholas (Brittany) and Christopher (Stephanie) Nieves, Lindsey Vuolo (Brendan), Ryan (Karen) and Brendan Cei, Justin and Signe Otto, great-grandchildren Christopher, Karina, Colby, Rowan, Kylee, Lacey, Finley and Hanley. She is also survived by her several nephews, nieces and their spouses and families, as well as her special family friends Pamela, Alyssa and Sarah.

She was predeceased by her loving sons Chief Master Sergeant Mark S. Cei and Craig A. Otto.
