Wallingford - George Peter Kuchle, 79, departed this life on February 21, 2021 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 50 years to Bernadette (Szmanek) Kuchle.
George was born in Middletown, CT on November 30, 1941, a son to the late Rupert and Hazel (Sauermann) Kuchle. Amongst his other schooling, he earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine.
George served his country proudly and honorably in the United States Navy. He was the owner and president of Triple Springs in Meriden for almost 35 years and was well known in his community. George was a dedicated member of the Meriden Chamber of Commerce as well as the Rotary Club. He was an avid history buff, loved the ocean and enjoyed skiing.
Besides his loving wife, George is survived by his step-daughters: Carol Callahan (William), Elizabeth Carpenter (George), Sally Mongillo (John) and his step-son: Michael Cassie (Donna). He will be cherished in the memories of his step-grandchildren: Stacia Padilla and Chantel Paradis as well as his nephews: Dave O'Brien, Jeffrey O'Brien and Keith O'Brien. In addition to his parents, George is predeceased by his sister Joan O'Brien and his brother Donald Kuchle.
Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021 from 9 AM to 11 AM at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. A graveside service with military Honors will take place immediately following calling hours at St. Boniface Cemetery in Meriden.
