MERIDEN- Gerald "Gerry" McDonagh Griffin, 71, passed away on July 16, 2021 at his residence.

Originally from Maryland, he was born the third son and middle child of nine siblings of the late Dr. John Henry Griffin and Mary Louise McDonagh Griffin on May 1, 1950. The family moved to North Haven, CT when Gerry was 14. While at North Haven High School, Gerry thrived athletically in both football and track and field. In later years, Gerry became an avid skier and tennis player.

Gerry leaves behind his sons Sean Griffin (Kelly) of Orange and Brett Griffin of West Haven. Gerry is also survived his two grandchildren Grady and Charlotte Griffin. Brother to Clare Griffin Ittner, Kathy Griffin Coppola, John Griffin, Peter Griffin, Chris Griffin, and the late Mary Louise Griffin Sullivan, James Griffin, and Thomas Paul Griffin. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
