Gladys Pietrowicz, 93, formally of Plainville, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021, at Marlborough Health and Rehabilitation in Marlborough CT. She was born in Terryville on August 14, 1927 to Anna and Vincent Preskanas, and was known to all as “Lollie”
She was united in marriage to William J. Pietrowicz on January 29, 1949 in New Britain. He predeceased her in 1993. She was employed at Fafnir Bearing in New Britain for most of her life, retiring after over 40 years of service. She was a member of St. Matthew Church in Forestville and the Ladies Guild of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Plainville. She was also a member of the Plainville Senior Citizens. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, and enjoying her pets, particularly her cats and her rescue dog Mabel.
She is survived by her daughter Susan Pinkham and husband Gary of Colchester, and two sons, Steven Pietrowicz of Plainville and William Pietrowicz of New Britain. Also, she leaves four grandchildren and their spouses Christine (Benedict), Katie (Chad), Erin, and Olivia (David), and 3 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Beatrice Yanke and Anne Talbot, and a daughter in-law, Maureen (Connelly) Pietrowicz.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Marlborough Healthcare for their love and kindness given to their “Lolly-Pop” during her time there, particularly during the Covid visiting restrictions.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Matthews Church, 120 Church Ave , Bristol. A Graveside service will follow at West Cemetery, Plainville. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plaiville.
