John Alexander Tribute

WALLINGFORD - John E. Alexander, 73, beloved husband of Dorothy Emily Alexander of 45 years, passed away on January 8, 2022 at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden.

John was born on July 22, 1948 in Meriden to the late Paul and Emma (Downey) Alexander.  He was a lifelong resident of Wallingford and worked for K & H Container for 37 years as well as Recycle for five years.  John was a member of the Grange for over 45 years, he volunteered many hours to the Trail of Terror and was know for playing Santa Claus for various stores in the Wallingford and North Haven area.  He was extremely proud of the fact that through OSHA, he held a license to operate a forklift.  John was an excellent duck pin bowler, enjoyed fishing, and loved to watch the Red Sox and the UCONN Women's basketball games.  He was also a lover of animals, especially his two cats; Princess and C.J. 

Besides his wife, John is survived by his brother, Paul Alexander as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Peggy Harrison; brother-in-law, Jimmy Harrison; sister, Mary Regula; brother-in-law, Frank Regula; niece, Holly Loomis and great-niece, Nanci Honyotski.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Centerville Cemetery in Hamden.  Relatives and friends may attend a visitation on Wednesday evening, January 12, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the B.C.
