John T. Ford, 74, beloved husband of Colleen McMahon Ford, departed this life on January 1, 2021.


John was born in Fall River, MA on June 30, 1946 to the late Henry E. Ford and Ethel (Halpin) Ford. They relocated to Wallingford, CT where John attended Lyman Hall High School.

 

John served honorably with the 3rd Marine Division in Vietnam. After his service in the Marines, John held jobs as a metal spinner at Wallace Silversmiths, service manager at Hartford Harley Davidson and at ADC Broadband Communications. John was a proud member of The Senior League Billiards Club out of Shooters in Southington as well as the Franco-American Club in Meriden, Hamden Fish & Game and the Meriden Rod & Gun Club. He also served as Assistant Scout Master with Boy Scout Troop 44.


In addition to his wife, John is survived by his children: Maynard Lumbra (Jenn Hull) of Cromwell, Jacqueline Weiss (Joseph) of Glastonbury, and Thomas Appell of Meriden. He leaves behind his most cherished grandchildren who will miss their Pepe dearly: Cael, Bryce, Kenzy, Vivienne, Nicholas, Alex, Camille and Tommy as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, John is predeceased by his brother, Henry R. Ford, his sister, Arlene Schweikert and his uncle and best friend, Thomas Halpin.


The family would like to thank the West Haven VA for his care throughout the years. Services for John will be private and at the convenience of the family. The B.C.
