SOUTHINGTON - John I. Vaillancourt, 83, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2022, at The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, in the loving arms of his daughter Cheryl, son in law Chris, and niece Linnea. He was the loving Husband of the late Linda (Draper) Vaillancourt for 55 years.

John was born on November 27, 1938 in Brewer, ME to the late John Vaillancourt and Marjory (Perkins) Vaillancourt.

John was a fierce entrepreneur, and despite not finishing college, went on to become part owner of an insurance company, golf course, and bowling alley. He had a passion for playing golf, bowling, skiing, and spending time with his family, cats, and friends. Anyone who met him could see his zest for life and he will be dearly missed by many.

John is survived by his daughter Cheryl Jackson and her husband Christopher of Avon and his grandson, Griffin. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his sons Darryl and Todd Vaillancourt.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville. Funeral services and burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Plainville will be private.

Memorial donations can be made in John's name to The Connecticut Humane Society.
