Joseph A Baginski

PLAINVILLE - Joseph Anthony Baginski, 65, passed away on July 20, 2022.  He grew up in Southington, CT and for most of his adult life lived in Plainville, CT.

Joseph was born on February 26, 1957 in Hartford, CT to the late Raymond Baginski, Sr. and Joann Baginski.

Joseph graduated from Southington High School in 1975. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Music in Voice and Music Education at the University of Hartford in 1982, and continued earning a Master of Science in Music Education from Central Connecticut State University in 1989.

Joseph started a teaching career at Saint Rose School in East Hartford and continued 25 years at Henry James School in Simsbury, CT.  He was involved in the Actors' Equity Association and Regional theatre experience at: Coachlight Dinner Theatre, Darien Dinner Theater,  Connecticut’s Broadway Theater, Palace Theater, and the The Hartt School Summer Theatre.  He also sang with Connecticut Opera and has performed his cabaret act at NYC venues such as Don't Tell Mama, Arthur's Tavern Live Jazz & Blues and The Metropolitan Room.  He had a private voice studio where he coached many students over the years.

In Joseph's free time he enjoyed bike riding, writing music, taking trips to Provincetown, spending time with family and friends.  Joseph loved to see his students perform and reach their own success and often would share the stage with them.  He had a special place in his heart for Jabberwocky, his beloved samoyed husky.  He was honored to be asked to sing at loved one's life celebrations, belting out "Ave Maria."

Joseph is predeceased by his brother, Raymond Baginski, Jr. He is survived by his 3 sisters, Marybeth Lafemina, Carol McGowan, and Alice Badecker and his sister-in-law, Stephy Cho.  He leaves his nephew Robert Lafemina and his wife Melissa Lafemina, his niece, Julie Lynn Badecker and fiancee' Melvin Melendez and nephews, Andrew James Badecker, Bryan Frederick Badecker, and Avery Ezra Harrington-Cho.

Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Service on Monday, August 15, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at The Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Board St. in Plainville. The Bailey Funeral Home of Plainville has been entrusted with the arrangements.
