Kevin T. Coane

WALLINGFORD - Kevin T. Coane, husband of the late Irene Cyr Coane, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022.  Born in New York on March 27, 1947, a son to the late Thomas & Doris (Nilan) Coane.  Kevin was a 1965 graduate of Lyman Hall High School, and met the love of his life, Irene, in his senior year. They dated several years before marrying in August of 1972. They traveled the country and Europe several times, and Kevin made friends with people wherever he went, so much so that his family began affectionately calling him "Kevin the Friendless". He had a great sense of humor and was easily approachable and attracted people to him wherever he went. He also proudly served his country in the United States Navy. 
Kevin studied at Porter and Chester Design School and was a Mechanical Engineer at Heise Industries before leaving to start his own construction business. He was a craftsman, making beautiful furniture and putting an addition on their house to give the love of his life the master suite of her dreams.  He and Irene had two fur babies, Daisy and Ben, Boston Terriers who gave Kevin much comfort after Irene passed away.  Kevin also loved to fish with his brother Brian, telling fish stories and laughing into the wee hours of the night.  His sense of humor and kindness will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Kevin is survived by his brothers: Brian Coane (Laurie) of Northford and Sean Coane (Marie) of Killingworth, as well as his sister, Eileen Hajnal (Ken) of Guilford.  He also leaves his two sisters-in-law: Elizabeth and Jean Cyr of Wallingford, and several nieces and nephews.
