Linda J. Bordeau

BRISTOL - Linda J. Bordeau passed away peacefully on January 21, 2023 at Bristol Hospital. She was born on October 5, 1946, the daughter of the late Lucien E. and Barbara (Palmer) Bordeau.

After graduating from Plainville High School in 1964, Linda enjoyed working and living on Shadow Farm Estate in Rhode Island near the ocean.  In 1987, she moved to Gualala, California and gave birth to her pride and joy, Shane.

In 2009, Linda came home to Connecticut. Linda braved her battle with Multiple Sclerosis for over half of her life. She was strong and resilient and was energized by her love of nature, the ocean, music and family.

Linda’s last years were spent at Sheriden Woods Health Care Center in Bristol.  She adjusted rapidly to a place where she felt cared for and comfortable.  She enjoyed getting to know everyone and everyone knew her. Linda rolled her wheel chair to all the programs and activities at Sheridan.  When she left a room, she lifted her shaky hand forming the peace sign and chortled her signature, “Peace Out.” 

Linda was a beautiful soul; positive, upbeat, silly and full of life. She will be missed dearly by those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Linda is survived by the love of her life, her son, Shane Padula of Ukiah, CA, sisters and brothers-in-law: Stella (Robert) George, and Laurie (William) Fasciano of Plainville, Dinah (James) Pellerin of Bristol and her brother and sister-in-law David (Deborah) Bordeau of Terryville and eight nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of Sheriden Woods for 12 years of outstanding and compassionate care and the Bristol Hospital ER for their care on her last day.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 94 Broad Street, Plainville, CT, followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Bristol. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that you consider a memorial donation in Linda’s name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 205 Hallene Rd., Unit 209, Warwick, RI.
