Louise Baratta

EAST HAVEN - Louise Baratta, 71, departed this life on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Yale New Haven Hospital - Saint Raphael Campus. She was the beloved wife of Robert Baratta of East Haven.

Louise was born in Germany on August 16, 1948, a daughter to the late Albert and Gerda Longo. At a young age she helped her parents on the family farm. In 1952, she came to America with her parents to make a life in their new country. Louise graduated high school and in 1974 met the love of her life, Robert Baratta. A few years later, on November 26, 1988, they married and settled in East Haven. Louise was a gentle soul who loved life. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and was an avid animal lover. She and husband Robert had a special fondness for cats.

Besides her husband, Louise leaves behind her brother Tony Longo, sisters-in-law; Geralyn Singh and Donelle Raj as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents.

A graveside service for Louise will be held on Monday, March 30, 2020 at 11:00AM at St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with Louise's final arrangements. To leave a message of remembrance, please visit www.BaileyCares.com.
