Marie Tardiff Tribute

PLAINVILLE - Marie Regina Tardiff, 99, of Plainville, CT, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain.  She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Lucien Tardiff with whom she shared 65 years.

Regina was born on December 9, 1922, in Saint Agatha, Maine to the late Minal Raymond and Olive (Theriault) Raymond.  She was a devoted homemaker, but also did work for the General Electric Company for 10 years until her retirement. Regina attended Our Lady of Mercy Church in Plainville and was a member of the choir. A woman of strong faith, she was in church almost daily, especially during Lent. In Regina's active years, she enjoyed traveling, most notably to Hawaii and Alaska to visit her family. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and arts & crafts. She also loved to sing and dance. Regina was an excellent cook, most famous for her peanut butter fudge she would pass out on Halloween.  She also credited her longevity to her love of Chocolate and Pepsi. Most of all, Regina will be remembered for her Unwavering Love and devotion to her family, her greatest legacy. Regina will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Left to cherish Regina’s memory are her two sons, Gerald Tardiff, and Roger Tardiff, two daughters, Diana Perry Uyematsu, and Ann Marie Tardiff, seventeen grandchildren, Kim Tenukas Puia, Angelique Perry Posten, Bruce Perry, Jr., Keven Perry, Christine Tardiff Boucher, Shannon Tardiff, David Tardiff, Malia Perry Hayward, Elizabeth Tardiff Boyd, Robert Tardiff Jr., James Tardiff, Kenneth Tenukas, Jason Tardiff, Jennifer Tardiff Reynolds, Kelly Tardiff, Clayton Tardiff, and Amy Tardiff, as well as a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and her beloved sister-in-law Odile Tardiff Raymond and beloved brother-in-law Elmer Ouellette. Besides her husband, Regina was preceded in death by three sons: Lucien Tardiff, Jr., Michael Tardiff, and Robert Tardiff, one daughter, Carol Tenukas, two brothers, Richard Raymond and Arthur Raymond, three sisters, Gertrude Ouellette, Mamie Raymond, and Lizzie Raymond, her half-sister Theresa Bouchard, stepsister Jeanette Pelletier, and several cherished brothers and sister’s in-law.

The family wishes to thank Regina’s two caregivers for the past five years. Stella for one year of care and Beauty for four years of care. Their kindness to our Mom will never be forgotten.

The family also wishes to thank Hospice for their comfort in helping Regina pass on so peacefully.
