WALLINGFORD - Marjorie P. McCafferty, 94, of Wallingford beloved wife of the late R. Neil McCafferty, departed this life on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the Masonic Healthcare Center.
Marjorie was born in Fairfield, July 7, 1920 daughter of the late Albert T. and Alma Rocholl Pilling.
She was a veteran of World War II, serving as a W.A.C. in the U.S. Army. Until her retirement, she was an office manager at an Engineering Firm. Mrs. McCafferty was a member of the First Congregational Church of Wallingford, was active with the State Board of Church Women of the United Church of Christ and their board of Church Women United.
She is survived by two granddaughters, Dawn Finaldi and her husband Thomas of Wallingford and Barbara Krieger of East Haven, two great grandchildren: Cynthia and Christopher Krieger, and a niece Heather Pilling of MA. She was predeceased by a son, Jerry Krieger, a brother, Robert Pilling, and a sister Hazel McCafferty.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 5th at 11:00 AM at B. C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St, Wallingford. There are no calling hours. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. If friends so desire, gifts in her memory may be made to the First Congregational Church Memorial Fund, 23 South Main St., Wallingford, CT 06492.
