WALLINGFORD - Patricia Ann "Trish" Tukis Silano, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on August 25, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones at MidState
Medical Center after a brief and courageous battle with metastatic lung cancer. She was born on August 30, 1946, in Bridgeport, to the late Frank Tukis and Erma (Milo) Tukis.
A devoted Catholic, Patricia's passion for family was evident from an early age in babysitting her nieces and nephews. She proudly embraced Tony's two Army tours in the Vietnam War and all things patriotic. A devoted wife and mother, Patricia's love and grace always shined. She dedicated herself to volunteering at church, schools, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
In the heart of her home, Patricia found joy sharing her culinary skills with all. Her love embraced any one in need, whether nephews and nieces needing advice, sending a card or baking birthday cupcakes. Always a pot of coffee brewing, many memories were created over a piece of her famous "Black Magic Cake" and countless Italian, Hungarian, and Lithuanian dishes. Beyond the kitchen, Patricia enjoyed traveling, shopping, gardening, puzzles, decorating, games, sewing, sharing her advice and monitoring weather. But her greatest pride and joy remained spending family time and sharing stories about her family, her grandchildren and grand-pets.
Patricia graduated Stratford High School and Butler Business School, continuing her love of learning the computer and even Excel. In later years, Patricia loved helping others in retail and corporate work. Her journey led her to the Silver Pond Senior Community, where she formed lasting friendships.
Patricia is survived by her loving children: Christine (Martin) Mansfield, Lorrie Silano, Toni Marie (Kenneth) Villines, and Angelo Silano. Her memory lives on in her sisters Elsie DeBiase, Francine Foley, Joan Maissonett, Joyce Lucas, Linda Trovarelli, and her brother Wallace Tukis. Patricia's legacy also extends to her cherished grandchildren: Sarah (Derek) Bedard, Jacob Woodcock, Evan, Andrew, and Patrice Mansfield. She leaves behind several godchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her infant twins, Anthony Angelo and Elaina Marie, her former husband, Anthony Silano, her older brother, Robert Henderson, and her best friend, Patricia Fonck.
The family would like to thank the dedicated support of the MidState Medicalteams for their tremendous care during her brief illness.
