PALM CITY, FL – Robert Wallace Adams, 96, died November 21, 2022. He was the loving husband of M. Estelle Stuckey and a former resident of Wallingford, CT.
Robert (aka Bob / Nick) was born in New Haven, CT on July 24, 1926, a son of the late William G. and Edith Wallace Adams formerly of Branford, CT.
Bob graduated from Branford High School, class of 1944 and served in the U. S. Navy from 1944 – 1946. He attended Whitney School of Art in New Haven, Conway Art School in Dorset, VT and Evening Divisions of New Haven & Quinnipiac Colleges. He was employed in the Arms Division of Olin Corp. & U. S. Repeating Arms Co. for over 35 years in various Production and Inventory Control assignments. He retired in 1991 as Manufacturing Systems Coordinator. He and Estelle moved to Florida in 2007.
Bob had many passions throughout his life. He was a talented artist and cartoonist. He loved spending time with family, friends, and fellow Shriners. His smile would light up a room and he could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. He was a true gentleman.
He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Estelle Stuckey Adams, son Steven Adams, and a sister Jean Adams Clark. He is survived by his son Stuart Adams and daughter-in-law, Pen Adams of Port St. Lucie, FL. He is also survived by his three grandchildren: Chrystal Adams, Adam Adams and Melissa Hatter, and his three great-grandchildren.
Bob was a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner, and a member of the Royal Order of Jesters. He had served on the Diaconate and the Board of Trustees of the First Congregational Church of Wallingford, CT.
Funeral services and burial will be private. There will be no calling hours. B. C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St. Wallingford, CT 06492, is in charge of the arrangements.
