Robert Bendel

Robert Bendel, 77, departed this life on March 17, 2024 at St Francis Hospital in Hartford  surrounded by his wife, Nereida and his brother in law, Rafael Robles.  Robert was born in New Haven, CT on July 20, 1946 to the late Francis and Julia (Collins) Bendel.  He worked for many years at Chromalloy CT until retirement.  Robert  loved football, playing Bingo, and going fishing.  He also enjoyed the beach as well as listening to country music and the oldies.  

Besides his loving wife of 34 years, Nereida, Robert is survived by his daughter, Veronica Farone and her husband Tom; step-son Enrique Rivera as well as his grandchildren: Ricky Rivera, Savannah Rivera and Tyler Farone.  He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and a very special friend Art Noel.  He will be missed dearly by all of his family and friends.    

In addition to his mother and father, Robert is predeceased by his brothers Francis, David and John Bendel and his sisters, Barbara and Patricia.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. Interment will take place in St. John's Cemetery immediately following the service.
