Roger John Geremia

PALM COAST, FL- Roger John Geremia, 83, formerly of Wallingford, Connecticut passed away after a pugnacious 7-year battle with a long-term illness with his family by his side. Roger was the beloved husband to Bonnie (Fernandes) Geremia for 54 years. Roger was a US Navy Veteran where he traveled the world for 4 years, aboard the USS Forrest Royal (DD 872) and the USS Taussig (DD-746).

Roger was born in New Haven, CT to the late Frank and Anna (Rotondo) Geremia. Roger worked for and retired from Ulbrich Steel of Wallingford, CT. Roger was very active in community youth sports, coaching, participating in the Boys and Girls Club, Wallingford Youth Soccer Leagues, travel teams and little league baseball. Roger loved different sports from high school athletics to professional. He avidly followed Lyman Hall football, softball and basketball. He loved the Boston Red Sox and NY Giants alike. Roger loved to spend time joking around while spending quality time with his family and friends.

Besides his wife Bonnie, Roger is survived by his two sons, Frank Geremia (US Navy Veteran) of Palm Coast, FL. and Mark Geremia of Wallingford, CT. His two sisters, Mildred (Geremia) Maturo of North Haven, CT and Sallyann (Geremia) Benjamin and her husband Ed of Spring Hill, TN. His two grandchildren Haili Geremia (US Navy active duty) of San Diego, CA. and Mckinna Geremia of Harrisonburg, VA. Roger also has many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews who were very close to him. His family would like to thank the hospital staff at both Yale New Haven Hospital and Advent Health Hospital of Palm Coast for the quality care he received.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Most Holy Trinity Church, 84 North Colony Rd., Wallingford. Everyone is asked to gather directly at the church. Inurnment will immediately follow Mass at St. John Cemetery, Wallingford where full Military Honors will be accorded. The B.C.
