WALLINGFORD- Sean Slain, 60, departed this life on September 25, 2021 at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Lisa (Olesen) Slain. He is also survived by his children Brittney and Sean (Kristina) and Grandson Jackson. His sister Donna (Tom) Carroll, brothers Tim (Deena) Slain, Brian (Jeannie) Slain, and numerous nieces and nephews. Also his well-loved dog, Bailey.
Sean was born in Manhattan, New York on December 27, 1960 to the late Herbert and Sally (Egan) Slain.
For the last six and a half years Sean worked as a truck driver for Tunnel Hill Ash and was a member of the Teamsters Union. Sean enjoyed spending time at home in the backyard with his dog, friends and family. His second home was the VFW where he was an auxiliary member. He devoted most of his adult life in the support of those in the military that served this country.
True to his Irish roots, Sean took lessons to learn to play the bagpipes. To save his wife's sanity, he often would practice during lunch breaks out on the road. Although not ultimately successful, it brought him great joy.
The family will receive visitors at B.C. Bailey Funeral Home 273 Elm Street, Wallingford CT 06492 on Saturday October 2, 2021 from 10a - 12p. In lieu of flowers Sean wished that donations be made in his name to the Gary Sinise Foundation by going to www.garysinisefoundation.org
