Tribute

PLAINVILLE - Thomas William Dorsey, beloved husband of Angela (Moschini) Dorsey, and father of twin daughters Caelyn and Rebecca, died September 9, 2023, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, CT. Tom was born in Bridgeport on March 7, 1970, to the late James C Dorsey Jr. and Florence (Celon) Eastwood.
Life hadn’t always been easy for Tom. His father had passed away when he was only 8 years old. At age 19, Tom was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. He fought through two different recurrences, a metal rod implanted to replace his femur, and was one of the first people to receive a stem cell transplant at UConn, all within 3 years.
Having survived all of that, Tom took up bull riding. He had a lot of time to make up, and a lot of living to do. He and his best bud Danny traveled the Northeast, going to clinics and living the rodeo life on the weekends. Tom always felt he should have been born during the glory days of the old west and was a cowboy at heart, from his love of old country music to the belt buckle he won at Jimmy Myers Bucking School.
He found the love of his life on a Wednesday evening at the Cadillac Ranch. Having so much in common, they were two halves finding their whole. Together he and Angela built a home, a business, and raised two beautiful and intelligent daughters, Rebecca and Caelyn. His daughters were his heart and he worked hard every day to provide for them. The girls loved him very much and were always grateful for his endless love, support, and presence.
Tom was the owner of American Septic Service and devoted his work life to providing quality service to his customers. He will be missed for his big hugs, mashed potatoes, and superior spider killing skills.
