Violet Daigle Tribute

BRISTOL - Violet Daigle passed away peacefully on January 20, 2023 at Bristol Hospital.  She was born on December 2, 1926 in St. Clairsville, Ohio to the late Henry and Mary Pyzia Yoker.  She was predeceased by her former husband, Elzear N. Daigle Jr., and proudly worked for the Pratt & Whitney Machine Tool Division in West Hartford, CT for many years as a machinist, and as the only female among 30+ men. Violet was the last remaining member of the Yoker family, and was predeceased by all eleven of her siblings, Anne, Nellie, Bertha, Helen, Mary, Sophia, Josephine, Henry Jr, John, Dorothy, and Robert.  Violet will be lovingly remembered by her family; her son Michael and daughter-in-law Susan of Portsmouth, NH and her son Bruce and daughter-in-law Yanina of Granby, CT.  She also leaves behind her six beloved grandchildren; Elizabeth and her husband Bob Potter, Colleen and her husband Brian Dorton, Michelle and her husband Adam Telian, Aaron and his wife Arielle Daigle, Erika and her husband Michael Podias, and Alexander Daigle. One of the highlights of her life was participating as a flower girl at Erika’s wedding in September at the age of 95. Violet was also blessed with five great-grandchildren; Edward & Josephine Potter; Isla Dorton, and Aiden & Quinn (born the day before she passed) Telian.  She was a fiercely independent and proud woman with an infectious smile who adored her two sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with the same compassionate love and affection. Violet will be greatly missed by all of those who were lucky enough to have known her.  In accordance with her wishes she was cremated and requested that her remains be buried in the Atlantic Ocean via Eternal Reefs, an organization which combines a cremation urn, ash scattering, and burial at sea into one meaningful, permanent environmental tribute to her Life. “Ma Bones”, as she was affectionately nicknamed, will be forever swimming with the fishes off the coast of Florida along with her deceased brother Henry. The family would like to thank the staff at Bristol Hospital for their exceptional compassion and care during the final days of Violet’s life which gave her great comfort. In lieu of flowers, Violet may be remembered with contributions to the Coral Reef Alliance (coral.org).
