September 24, 1934 ~ January 27, 2021 (age 86) 86 Years Old

William Brann Tribute

YALESVILLE - William G. "Billy" Brann, 86, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed quietly to be with the Lord on January 27, 2021. He was born on September 24, 1934 in Donkin, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, to Edward and Marjory (Andrews) Brann. Billy emigrated to CT in 1955 and met Lucy Swiatek and they were married on his 26th birthday in September of 1960. He learned the drywall trade.  His excellent skill was well known throughout the state.  His many friends at Tom's Place in South Meriden will long remember him. Billy was an avid hockey fan.  He was pleased to be from "God's Country" but considered himself lucky to have a home in the States.

Billy is survived by his loving wife, and their five children: Linda (John) Pielich of Orlando, FL; Virginia "Ginny" Waller of Wallingford; Andrew Brann of Wallingford; Thomas (Sherri) Brann of Wallingford and David (Dulce) of Rocky Hill. 

Grampy loved and cherished his grandchildren:  Daniel (Monica) Schwartz of Chicago; Nicole (Douglas) Hagen of Cromwell; Krystyna Brann and Michele Brann Wallingford, and David John Brann Jr of Rocky Hill.  Billy is also survived by his brother Lloyd (Karen) Brann of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia as well as his in-laws Judie & Bob Gubala, Kathy & Joe Camposeo, Pat & David Thorstenson, Claire & George Quaggin, Ellie Giannelli and Jim & Jane Swiatek, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was particularly close to his cousin Jane Burbank his niece Patsy Morrison and his nephew Dwight Smith.

Besides his parents, Billy was predeceased by his sisters Mamie, Sis, Madge, Loretta and his brothers Buddy and Gordon.

A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Holy Angels Church, 585 Main Street, South Meriden, CT.  Interment will at Walnut Grove Cemetery will be private.
