William LaBarr Tribute

William Edward LaBarr, 68, of Plainville passed away Friday May 4, 2018 at the Hughes Health and Rehabilitation Center in West Hartford after a courageous battle with his illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Linda (Schiavoni) LaBarr with whom he shared over 45 years of marriage.

William was born December 9, 1949 in Hartford the son of the late Edward Morris and Hazel (Greenier) LaBarr and was a longtime Plainville resident. He was a graduate of Plainville High School Class of 1969. Following his graduation, in July of 1969 he joined the US Army and proudly served his country in Germany during the Vietnam War as a Spec. 4 in the 351st Assault Helicopter Division where he was a mechanic. Following his discharge in 1971 he worked at W. T. Grant, Namco and finished his career at Trumpf, Inc. retiring after many years of service. William was a hardworking man who was a great provider for his family and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He was a proud veteran who loved his country, flag and spending time with his beloved family. William was a Communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Plainville.

Besides his loving wife Linda, he leaves his daughter, Stacey Beaupre and her husband Daniel of Newington his grandsons, Mason and Logan and many close friends and extended family members.

Funeral service in celebration of William’s life will be held on Thursday May 10, 2018 beginning at 9:00 a.m. from the Bailey Funeral Home 48 Broad Street in Plainville and proceed to Our Lady of Mercy Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery in Plainville. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Wednesday May 9, 2018   from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Who Care Foundation P.O.
